Syntech Zinco Metal is suitable for direct application on metal as a primer and top coat; as corrosion protection with barrier effect; suitable for protecting metal surfaces such as railings, handrails, fences, frames, agricultural machinery, light or heavy carpentry; alternative to protection systems that use multiple layers of paint.
Steel and Cast Iron
It is necessary to remove solder residues and grind the joints. The surfaces to be coated must be free of dirt, oil, grease and impurities; Salts and other contaminants can be effectively removed by high-pressure washing with fresh water prior to blasting. Sandblast to cleanliness level Sa 2½ according to ISO 8501-1. Average surface roughness degree RZ ≥ 50 μm. After sandblasting, carefully clean the surface, removing dust and abrasion residues.
Repair of small areas
It is necessary to remove solder residues and grind the ground joints. The surfaces to be coated must be free of dirt, oil, grease and impurities, salts and other contaminants can be effectively removed by high pressure washing with fresh water. Thoroughly clean the area to be retouched with the aid of mechanical tools up to the St3 cleanliness level according to ISO 8501-1. The area adjacent to the area to be repaired must be sanded to ensure the best possible condition

Pre-existing paints
Manual or mechanical preparation (St2-St3) or sandblasting until the complete removal of old paints and oxides not perfectly anchored to the support. Clean the surface carefully, removing dust and abrasion residues.
Galvanized steel
Washing with biodegradable detergents according to SSPC-SP1 to remove dirt, oil and grease. Roughening sandblasting with non-ferrous abrasive, average surface roughness RZ ≥ 10 μm.
The substrate must have a temperature of at least +3°C above the roughness point to reduce the risk of condensation or bleaching of the finish. Mix with a mechanical stirrer until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Avoid excessive air trapping.
Dilution:

Electrostatic: 15-20% with NITRO thinner
Airless: 5-10% with NITRO thinner
Air mixture: 10-15% with NITRO thinner
