Azichem at the International Conference at Tor Vergata (Rome): “The New Boundaries of Structural Concrete
The research activity conducted in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Brescia, under the coordination of Prof. Eng. Fausto Minelli, continues to thrive.
The studies are evaluating a series of new structural mortars characterized by extremely high physical and mechanical performance, developed using significant proportions of recycled materials.
The use of recycled materials represents a crucial challenge in enhancing the environmental sustainability of high-performance products used in the restoration and reinforcement of our building heritage. This approach also aligns with the new national and European directives on environmental action plans aimed at reducing the exploitation of natural resources.
Ongoing research is yielding results of great interest, which were presented by Eng. Matteo Lamberti in a report at the International Conference “The New Boundaries of Structural Concrete – ACI NBSC, Rome, September 2024.”
The presented article, “Properties of High-Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete Containing Electric Arc Furnace Slags,” focuses on some of the results achieved and outlines the future directions of the research, which will continue with full-scale tests on structural elements reinforced with ultra-high-performance flowable fiber-reinforced mortars.
The article, published in the conference proceedings, was authored by Matteo Lamberti (*), Fausto Minelli (*), Roberto Rosignoli (**), and Matteo Stancari (**).
